I must be a Mermaid

As life abounds deep within the sea we might consider the character of our own lives. The title is the opening line of a quote by Anaïs Nin: "I must be a mermaid, Rango. I have no fear of depths and a great fear of shallow living."

The Rat Pack: retold
This piece is a spoof on the Rat Pack gang of the early sixties (Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis, Jr. to name just three). It was commissioned by a new restaurant and I hope will hang on its walls when it opens in February 2017. My version of the Rat Pack envisions three hungry, rather vicious looking rats atop buildings along the Las Vegas skyline. Maybe they're heading for the martini!

The magic that is winter abounds in this image of a blustery landscape of snow-covered firs and bare trees. A boy skates on a pond below a village in the distance, and a doves flies high in the wintry skies.
