Alternative Facts
A tongue-in-cheek political satire based on a photograph taken in a school library. My sister thought it would be comical to add a category of Alternative Facts to those of Fiction and non-Fiction, and this is what I did with it.

The Rat Pack: retold
This piece is a spoof on the Rat Pack gang of the early sixties (Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis, Jr. to name just three). It was commissioned by a new restaurant and I hope will hang on its walls when it opens in February 2017. My version of the Rat Pack envisions three hungry, rather vicious looking rats atop buildings along the Las Vegas skyline. Maybe they're heading for the martini!

I must be a Mermaid
As life abounds deep within the sea we might consider the character of our own lives. The title is the opening line of a quote by Anaïs Nin: "I must be a mermaid, Rango. I have no fear of depths and a great fear of shallow living."
